Applying eyeliner perfectly can be time-consuming, frustrating, and overall, a hassle. When you don’t get it quite the way you want, you will have to start all over again, and there will be days when you just can’t get it right. So, is permanent eyeliner the answer?
Think about it, no need to apply eyeliner every day, you can go out in the rain up without fear of smudges, black eyes, or the worry of eyeliner running down your face. It could be the solution to your eyeliner problems!
Permanent eyeliner tattoos can be as thin or as thick as you want, it’s a semi-permanent procedure, and the technician will place a pigment along the top and the bottom of your lash lines. It produces the illusion of thicker, darker, and fuller lashes without seeming too obvious.
Don’t get confused by the wording. It may be known as ‘permanent eyeliner’ when in fact, it is semi-permanent. This means that it won’t be there forever, and you will have to make follow-up appointments to have the liner touched up as it begins to fade. The treatment usually lasts between 2 and 5 years.
So, if you want the full-on flick, or want to make your lashes look that bit fuller, then semi-permanent eyeliner is the answer for you, and most people are surprised to find out it is not as painful as they expected.
But I’ve Heard the Procedure Can Hurt?
As the process does involve putting ink into your skin, there will be a small amount of pain involved, but we first apply a numbing cream to reduce the discomfort.
Is Having Permanent Eyeliner Expensive?
As with any treatment, prices vary depending on the details. Contact us to find out more.
Is It Safe to Have Semi-Permanent Eyeliner?
Always have your permanent eyeliner applied by a qualified professional, don’t just walk into the first place you come across! Do some research or ask us about what the procedure involves. Semi-permanent makeup treatments do not go as deep as regular tattoos.
Are There Any Side Effects of Having Permanent Eyeliner?
As with any tattoo procedure, there will be a small amount of swelling where the tattooing has taken place. It is not uncommon for some bleeding and bruising or even a burning or itching sensation around the area for a day or two. Any swelling should diminish after a couple of days.
Can Permanent Eyeliner Cause My Eyelashes to Fall Out?
This is a commonly asked question, and the simple answer is no. There is no evidence that an eyeliner tattoo causes lashes to fall out.
So How Do You Take Care of Your Permanent Eyeliner?
Following the aftercare recommendations after you have had your permanent eyeliner is paramount. So, follow the advice of your practitioner and scratch the site, pick at it, or even though the temptation may be there, do not touch it and let your body heal.
If you touch or scratch the eyelids, you may cause damage to the tattoo or even cause scarring. To make the eyeliner last as long as possible, use a gentle eye makeup remover, try not to rub your eyes, and wear sunglasses on hot days as bright sunlight can cause the pigment to fade. As with any tattooing, you must take note of the aftercare instructions you receive after your appointment. These will detail the best way to care of your permanent eyeliner.
