WHAT IS MICROBLADING?
Microblading is a form of semi-permanent makeup but instead of using a digital machine to implant the pigment, a disposable handheld tool is used. It’s composed of very fine needles of varying numbers placed tightly together and resembling the shape of a blade, hence the name microblade. Using the microblade, individual hairs are drawn onto the skin and simultaneously implanting the pigment.
HOW MICROBLADING IS DONE?
Each hair stroke drawn is designed to simulate the client’s natural eyebrow hair and blend in with the client’s existing brows, adding colour and fullness. Brows are designed to complement the client’s facial structure and personality. Brows are measured and pre drawn, allowing the client to have a good idea of the final outcome, and giving an opportunity to make any adjustments before the procedure starts. We carry a large selection of brow pigments which will be patch tested on the client’s skin to see which colour is the most suitable.
WHO IS MICROBLADING FOR?
Microblading is a great option for clients who have sparse, thin or uneven eyebrows and want natural looking results. However, it is not the best option for everyone, skin condition and health need to be taken into account. Oil in the skin can cause the microblading hair strokes to blur, so the less oily the skin, the better the results. Clients with older, thinner skin or oily skin would be better suited to having their eyebrows tattooed using a digital machine.
We only want the best results for our clients and follow strict guidelines on who is a good candidate for microblading here at our Microblading London clinic. If you are not suitable for microblading we can still offer you eyebrow tattooing but using a digital machine instead.
HOW MANY MICROBLADING SESSIONS DO I NEED?
Here at Microblading London we offer a free top up appointment at 6 to 8 weeks after your initial appointment. It takes that amount of time for the pigment to settle. This allows us to make any adjustments and strengthen the initial hair strokes, allowing for the pigment to be evenly distributed so that each hair stroke has even colour.
HOW DO I MAINTAIN MY NEW MICROBLADED BROWS?
After the initial touch-up appointment, it’s recommended to have a yearly touch-up to maintain the colour and crispness. Overtime, natural fading occurs due to natural factors such as the body metabolising and breaking down the pigments together with sun exposure, lifestyle choices and skin type. Everyone will experience the fading process differently. Other options for keeping them from fading too soon would be to use a sun block on the brows, particularly when on holiday, wearing sunglasses will also help. Also, avoid using any creams that have retin-A or skin peeling treatments on the brow area.
